Oliver Jonas, Ph.D.

Director, Cancer Research & Projects


Ollie is Principal Investigator at The Jonas Lab, and also serves as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, the Department of Radiology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, on Faculty at the Joint Center for Cancer Precision Medicine, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and as an Associate Member at the Broad Institute.

He previously served as a postdoctoral associate in the Langer Lab at the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. Oliver's research focuses on understanding local intratumor effects of anti-cancer drugs, and on building devices for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in cancer.

Prior to his work at MIT, Dr. Jonas was an associate at Third Rock Ventures in Boston, working on scientific and business diligence for projects in oncology, nephrology, and neuro-developmental disorders. He also worked as a management consultant at OC&C Strategy Consultants in Boston and Düsseldorf, Germany.

Oliver holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Leipzig University-Germany, as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Harvard University in Physics.
